Medco Prescription Reimbursement Form
You pay a differential if your doctor prescribes a drug that is not on the PDL.
Long-term medications must be filled through The 90-Day Rx Solution. the Benefit Fund's maintenance drug access program. Just ask your doctor to write your prescription for a three-month supply with three refills (a year's supply in total). Then fill it through Medco by Mail, or order and pick up your prescription at a Rite Aid Pharmacy in New York or New Jersey. Click here for a Medco by Mail order form.
Some medications require prior authorization. If your doctor thinks you need a medication that is not on the Preferred Drug List, call the Fund at (646) 473-9200.
Effective September 1, 2009: In order to continue to safeguard your health while providing you access to the medications you need, Medco has expanded some of our prescription programs, such as our prior authorization list, step therapy drug list and quantity duration drug classes.
Think Generics First!
Always ask your doctor to prescribe generic drugs from the Fund's PDL where possible. The generic drugs listed on the Funds's PDL have the same effectiveness as the name brands, but they cost much less.
Remember, if your doctor prescribes a brand-name even though a generic is available, or a non-covered medication, you will have out-of-pocket costs.
