English as a Second Language (ESL)

The Training and Employment Funds’ English as a Second Language (ESL) classes can help you learn to understand, speak, read and write better in English.

As an 1199SEIU member, you also have access to specialized ESL programs, including:

English for Health Care Workers: If you have completed ESL Level 7, these classes can help improve your English skills specifically for healthcare settings.

Academic English: If you already have strong English language skills but want to advance further — for instance, if you plan to go to college but need to improve your written and spoken English skills to do so — Academic English classes can help. These classes cover oral presentations, computer research, test preparation and term papers.
