WorkForce 2000 Program

For Teens 14 to 17 years of age

The WorkForce 2000 program (WF2) is a yearlong academic program designed to help 1199SEIU teenagers meet the challenges of high school, prepare for college and make informed career choices.

WorkForce 2000 begins with a four-week summer experience that offers students the option of daily academic classes at New York University, or if eligible, a work internship in one of many professional settings throughout the New York Metropolitan area.  During the school year, students participate in a weekend retreat and attend Saturday academic classes that are held at New York University.

Additional program components include: college/career exploration, health awareness workshops, professional development seminars, cultural arts events, and community service projects.

For more information regarding the WorkForce 2000 program, please email us at childcare@1199funds.org, or call (212) 564-2220.
